This video was commissioned by the musician Moving Point, Lyricist GuLuo and Illustrator ShenMu. Having worked with me before and impressed by the quality, they reserved the creation of this video a year in advance and were happy to give me total creative freedom.

Having only been told this song was based on the novel 1984 and I should use all the Illustrations given, I decided to construct a tension filled narrative between the two existing characters while loosely following along with the lyric.

Inspired by the jazzy music, I did not try to limit or censor any of my ideas, and this led to some of my favorite scenes within my animator career.
